  Spire Clare Park is only really suitable for minor procedures, primarily due to it's remote location, being no where near an NHS facility. If something were to go wrong, there is not the necessary skillset or equipment on hand and you face potentially too long a wait to reach an A&E department. The grounds are lovely, however, the building aside from the consultancy area is not up to scratch and outside of theatre, the level of service is poor. When I was shown my room, it was full of insects and the member of staff (who didn't even realise that her pager had buzzed when I arrived and was therefore late), didn’t even take any interest or pass comment. The catering was also absolutely dire. To start with, the room didn't have any water, I wasn't offered any either so had to ask (a jug of water is std in the NHS). The caterer was completely uninterested and couldn't even be bothered to close doors behind her? I kindly requested an egg salad sandwich, which when it arrived, even though was labelled correctly, was actually ham. The soup was so salty, I could feel my blood pressure increasing with eat mouthful. On the upside, the theatre staff were professional, thorough and did their utmost to ensure I was happy and comfortable. Back to the general staff, the discharge was disorganised and wasn't dealt with correctly, putting the outcome of my procedure potentially at risk. It's just not good enough from a private hospital and it's worth bearing in mind, that there is much better on offer in the Surrey and Berkshire area.
